PRESS RELEASE    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

THE BOTANICAL CO FIRST IN REGION TO OFFER RECREATIONAL CANNABIS, DELIVERY, CURBSIDE PICKUP

The licensed provisioning center began recreational cannabis sales last week; new order from the state clears way for curbside pickup and online ordering to combat the spread of COVID-19

EAST TAWAS, MICHIGAN/March 18, 2020: Recreational cannabis is finally available to residents of the Lake Huron shoreline.

The Botanical Company of East Tawas began recreational cannabis sales last week. Their first-in-the-region adult-use cannabis license was awarded by the Marijuana Regulatory Agency (M.R.A.) in early March. This week the provisioning center begins home delivery of cannabis and launches a special program designed to reduce patient and customer exposure to the COVID-19 virus.

On Monday the M.R.A. gave permission for provisioning centers with appropriate licensure to conduct sales of cannabis in their parking lot. All provisioning center grounds are covered by cameras, meaning all transactions will be video recorded and entered into the state’s database.

“This new feature allows The Botanical Company’s customers to use our service in a way that protects them from potential contamination while conducting a safe, secure transaction,” said Jamie Lowell of The Botanical Company.

Both delivery and curbside pickup of cannabis will rely on Internet ordering, a feature that’s been available for The Botanical Company’s patients for several months. Previously, delivery was restricted to a person’s home address; as of Monday’s advisory, cannabis can be delivered to any legitimate address within 30 miles of The Botanical Company’s store on US-23.

“We want to make this crisis as painless as possible to our patients and customers while respecting patient safety and maintaining our legal compliance,” Lowell added.

Media interviews are available at The Botanical Company or via telephone. Video interviews are welcome at the store. All interviews must be arranged in advance to respect patient privacy.
