A message from Rick Thompson, Editor in Chief at TheSocialRevolution.org and owner of the MICBD Group:

_____

This is HUGE.

It is with great pleasure that I am able to confirm that our Speaker representing the State of Michigan at the SE MI. Cannabis Business Development Conference is none other than the Director of the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, Shelly Edgerton. The Conference is July 9 and takes place at the beautiful Atheneum Hotel in Detroit’s Greektown District.

As you may know, The Medical Marihuana Program and the Facilities Licensing Act were earlier this year folded into a new group, the Bureau of Medical Marihuana Regulation. That Bureau is under the management of the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs. Director Edgerton is the head of that crucial and important wing of state government; she oversees the Seed to Sale tracking program, the MMMA and the MMFLA. The buck stops at the office of the Director.

Director Edgerton and Assistant Deputy Director at LARA, Colleen Curtis, will attend and address the Conference attendees on the subject of the MMFLA rollout. There seem to be more questions than answers following the Licensing Board meeting on Monday; this is possibly the only chance we will have to interact with the Director and staff during this time of Administrative Rules creation.

I would encourage anyone who has any interest in starting a business, or any attorney who advises clients on this industry, to attend the Conference. There is no more direct source of information available to us than the Director herself, and no where will you get it except at the Southeast Michigan Cannabis Business Development Conference, July 9 at the Atheneum Hotel in Detroit. You can either be there and hear this information yourself, or you can listen to half-remembered reports from other people who were. I think you know what the right decision is.

We look forward to seeing you there,
