LANSING- The latest weekly report from Michigan’s Marijuana Regulatory Agency (MRA) contains three reversals of prior denials for a state marijuana business license.
The denials were originally issued by the now-disbanded Licensing Board for the Medical Marihuana Facilities Licensing Act (MMFLA), Michigan’s business program serving registered medical marijuana patients and caregivers. Governor Whitmer disbanded the dysfunctional Board by executive order earlier this year in response to requests by community and business advocates.
The Report details action taken by the MRA from September 2-6, 2019.
MI Loud Flower Farms from Chelsea was granted an application prequalification approval on September 5, 2019. Initially, the “Medical Marihuana Licensing Board denied prequalification on July 12, 2018,” per the Report. The appeal took 14 months to complete.
Uncle Bud’s Provisioning Center in Linwood was approved by the MRA on September 5, along with their 500-plant Class A cultivation facility in Bay City. The “Medical Marihuana Licensing Board denied licensure” to both facilities on November 8, 2018.
MRA reports from August show Green Genie and Plan B Wellness Center from Detroit individually had their previous Board denials reversed.
The current week’s report detailed two denials of license applications. Scottie Denha from Royal Oak and Thelma’s Leaf from Detroit were both separately denied on their Provisioning Center applications
Both were denied for the same reasons: “The Applicant did not submit a complete application for a state operating license” and “The Applicant failed to provide information the agency requested to assist in any investigation, inquiry, or agency hearing as required by Section 402(15) and after being provided with a reasonable time to correct the application deficiencies, pursuant to Section 403.”
August contained 48 notices of license denial from the MRA. Oasis Wellness Center saw all 33 of their applications denied in a single day.
