9. Jamie Lowell
As co-founder of Michigan’s first dispensary to be recognized by their city, 3rd Coast Compassion, Jamie Lowell has been influencing Michigan cannabis politics since the beginning. 3rd Coast is still in operation in Ypsilanti. In 2010 Lowell became a founding member of the Michigan Association of Compassion Centers (MACC), whose many activities included suing the Attorney General of Michigan and hosting huge protests on the steps of the Capitol Building. Lowell is on the Board of Directors of the MILEGALIZE group, and has been since 2014. In 2017 he was an influential negotiating partner on the Drafting Committee for the CRMLA petition drive to legalize marijuana in Michigan. He recently ended a six-year + run of weekly appearances on the Planet Green Trees Radio Show, where he was Executive Producer. Lowell is also a principal in the group Michigan Marijuana Law Experts, which has successfully matched clients and municipalities for MMFLA-related businesses in many parts of the state.
